Fifty Something Desperately Seeking Stylish Eye Glasses
The world is filled with glamor every where I look. Eye wear has become a fashion statement for cross generations but I just can't seem to get free from my seventies generation style. Those high school years are etched into my fashion sense with permanent ink. If golden age girls in Hollywood can look that great in sunglasses, why do mine make me look like a beetle or some over -aged hippie? I really need a fashion mentor to help me select some flattering glasses that will complement my wardrobe, my hair and most of all, my age. Are there any eye wear gurus out there?
At fifty something my vision is not as sharp as it was at thirty something but I still want to look good in glasses . Let's face it ladies, vanity is for the young at heart. And if that's all I have to hold onto when I look into the mirror, I at least want to see myself clearly instead of that faded image without a face that stares at me some mornings. I need the glasses for reading and driving because I enjoy both hobbies and I want to do them well. My vision is an important part of my health so I want to wear the proper corrective lenses and the perfect stylish frames. I'm just inept at choosing eyeglass frames.
A friend gave me some good advice. She suggested that I pick my seasonal wardrobe first, then go shopping for eye glasses. I'll be picking out reading glasses and a couple pairs of sunglasses. I have a strong sensitivity to light so the shaded lenses that adapt to different degrees of light are vital to my vision. I'm turning to advice from my peers and to sites listed on the internet where I can look at realistic images and read reviews by satisfied shoppers like me. If you are fifty something and you have a knack for choosing glasses, I'd love to hear your recommendations! When I find the right glasses, I'll take a photo and post it on my site for all the world to see. It will be a surreal moment.
